Family Vacation Packages
Planning a family vacation is very different from planning a trip with friends or as a couple. You have to think about what the kids will enjoy, whether the grandparents can manage the walking, and most importantly – whether the hotel is actually family-friendly or just claims to be.
At Indian Travellers, located at Unit no. 237, Raghuleela Mall, Kandivali West, Mumbai, we have been organizing family holidays for over a decade. We know exactly what works for Indian families and what leads to complaints, tantrums, and stressful trips.
In this blog, we will show you the best family-friendly destinations in India, what to look for in a family package, and how to plan a vacation that everyone – from your five-year-old to your seventy-year-old father – actually enjoys.
Why Family Vacations Need Different Planning
A regular travel package focuses on covering maximum sightseeing in minimum time. That does not work for families. Children get tired and bored. Elderly parents need rest. And parents themselves need a break from managing everything.
When you book a family vacation package with us, we focus on:
- Kid-safe itineraries with limited travel hours each day
- Hotels with family rooms, play areas, and reliable food
- Destinations that have activities for all age groups
- Flexible pacing – you can skip a sightseeing spot if the kids are tired
- Transport with enough space for strollers and extra luggage
We handle all the logistics so you can actually spend time with your family instead of arguing with taxi drivers or searching for restaurants.

Real Family, Real Experience
The Sharma family from Borivali booked a 7-night Himachal package with us. They had two children aged 6 and 9, plus the grandparents. They wanted a trip that was not too rushed and had something for everyone.
We designed an itinerary – 2 nights Shimla, 3 nights Manali, 2 nights Dharamshala. We kept travel days short, booked family suites in quiet hotels, and included activities like the toy train, horse riding, and a nature walk.
After the trip, Mrs Sharma messaged us, “The children are still talking about the toy train and the snow in Manali. Grandparents were comfortable throughout. This was our best family holiday ever. Thank you for planning every little detail.”
This is exactly what we aim for with every family that travels with us.
Tips for a Stress-Free Family Holiday
Here are some practical tips based on our years of experience with family travellers.
Pack smart, not heavy. Carry extra sets of clothes for children, basic medicines, and snacks. You do not need five pairs of shoes for a week-long trip.
Keep travel days short. Do not try to cover three cities in five days. Children cannot handle long hours in a car. One travel day followed by two relaxed days is a good rhythm.
Choose hotels with swimming pools. A pool can be a lifesaver. When children are tired of sightseeing, an hour in the pool resets their mood completely.
Book during school holidays wisely. December and May are peak seasons. Prices are higher and places are crowded. If possible, travel during the shorter October or February breaks.
Involve children in planning. Ask them what they want to see – animals, snow, beaches, or forts. When they feel included, they behave much better during the trip.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer packages for large joint families?
Yes. We regularly organize trips for families of 10 to 20 people including grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. We arrange private Tempo Travellers and book entire hotel floors or resort wings.
What is the best family destination during summer holidays?
Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are best for summer. The hills are cool and pleasant. Kerala and Andaman are also good but can be humid. Avoid Rajasthan in summer.
What is the best family destination during winter (December)?
Rajasthan and Kerala are excellent in winter. Andaman is also very pleasant. Himachal will be very cold with snow – great if you want snow, but not suitable for very young children or elderly parents.
Do you include flights or train tickets from Mumbai?
We can include them for an additional cost. Most families prefer us to book everything – flights, hotels, transport, and activities – so they get one single bill with no hidden surprises.
Is there a minimum age for children in your packages?
No. We welcome families with infants as well. We just need to know in advance so we can arrange baby-friendly hotels and transport.
What if someone falls sick during the trip?
We provide 24/7 support and will help you find the nearest good doctor or hospital. For senior citizens, we recommend travel insurance which we can help arrange.
